“…if music can’t be sung, then it ceases to be music. It certainly ceases to be sacred music. Sacred music must be able to be in some way sung, because from a Christian point of view the Word must be heard. Music is the extension of the Word, not a frilly decoration of the Word. It is at the service of the Word, as in all traditions.”
Sir John Tavener (1944-2013)
Are you a tenor looking for a church choir near Stow, Ohio? If so, we’d like to talk with you! 🙂 Of course we accept all voice parts, but tenors are especially welcome. We rehearse Thursday evenings 7:30-9:00 p.m. and sing in the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service.
We are a fun-loving group, and we make some pretty nice music too, all with the aim of glorifying God! Here is the church’s mission statement:
We believe and proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
We strive as a community of believers to share the love of God with others, as taught by the scriptures and illuminated by the Holy Spirit.
